Saxquest specializes in mechanical overhauls, mechanical restorations and custom key work. We use the finest grade materials available, with careful attention paid to detail. YOU decide what kind of resonator, pad and pad treatment you would like us to use. We are happy to make recomendations for you. Each player, instrument and mouthpiece make a unique combination. A combination we try to take into consideration when we repair your instrument.
Please note: If an instrument needs extensive dent work and/or key wear, there may be an additional cost, and we will contact you upon evaluation of the instrument to give you an estimate of additional fees.
Our professional overhaul, including all of the work detailed above, is priced at $1250 for a soprano, alto or tenor saxophone, plus parts. Factoring in the cost of pads and resonators, the final price is usually close to $1500, assuming no major dent work is needed. This does not include the cost of all shipping fees, so we have included those here as well. The price you see is the final price you pay, including all of the work and all shipping fees to/from you (springs and/or additional dent repair/labor may be additional).
The current turn-around in our repair shop is 12 weeks for a full overhaul. You can purchase the overhaul now, and we will contact you when it is time to ship the sax to us. At that time we will email you boxing and shipping directions, as well as a UPS label for your use in shipping us the saxophone. We can even ship you a box to pack your saxophone, pre-packaged with all the shipping materials you will need, for an additional charge. Once in our possession, we will only need the sax for approximately 2 weeks. If we find the sax needs extra work outside of what we consider the norm, you will be contacted with a revised estimate.
Both Basic Mechanical Overhauls and Complete Mechanical Restorations come with a one year warranty on all work performed. Warranties are only valid for saxophones that have not been abused or otherwise neglected. If your horn goes out of regulation in the first year by means of normal daily wear and tear, send it back to us and we'll fix it for free. You are only responsible for shipping charges.
