Boehm Alto Saxophone – Made by Martin

This is a vintage Boehm alto saxophone in silver plate, serial number 5371. The Boehm, Buffalo NY is a silver plated vintage alto made by Martin. This alto shows off a pretty silver finish with decorative engraving. Its key work is very similar to the Martin Troubadour model. Like Martin this sax also has beveled tone hole construction. This saxophone is keyed from low Bb to high F palm key.

The body of the sax is in very solid condition currently. It does show some history of restoration and past body and solder repair. One point of note is a past repair to the side Bb key. This saxophone comes with the original neck. The neck is in nice shape overall but does a few dings.

At this time the sax is playing down to a low D and will play down to the bell keys if you use a lot of air. It currently has an older set of leather pads and brown nylon resonators. The pads are all older, some are more worn than others. If you are going to put a lot of playing time on it the sax would need to be re-padded first. This would be a great horn if you are looking for something cool to play around the house as is or if you are looking for an at home project piece.
