Vintage Buescher Made Elkart Silver Plate Alto Sax, Serial #6362
American Vintage Alto - Repair Special
This is an older vintage Elkhart alto saxophone in nice silver plate finish, serial number 6362. The saxophone was manufactured by Buescher and shows very similar construction to the Buescher True Tone model. All done up it would play with a very full punchy sound akin to the American vintage altos of the early jazz age. Like the early Bueschers this alto features key work to palm key F, back door Eb, trill G# and split bell keys.
This one in particular is in decent physical condition but is going to need maintenance before it is ready for serious playing. Some of the keys are a little sluggish as this time but nothing is frozen. The pads on it do not look like they have seen a lot of play time but are already on the harder side. The saxophone will need some serious servicing up to a complete overhaul before it can be considered in perfect playing condition. All of the rollers currently on the horn are pretty worn out and would be worth replacing.
The body looks pretty clean showing a silver finish with a gold wash on the bell flare. It does include the original neck in good shape as well. It should be noted the top foot of the low C key guard is currently un-soldered. We currently have a large number of great vintage items in need of restoration that we are selling at lower prices. If you know a good tech or have a shop at home you can get into this alto at a nice low price.
Ships in as is condition with a non original case.
